So Paul Ryan had a CNN town hall? I didn’t watch it, just saw a clip of him talking about repealing Obamacare and replacing it with something better. I also saw the clip about defunding Planned Parenthood. It made me want to write something about him, but first, I have to say, because I do have conservative friends, Planned Parenthood does a shit ton of good, and also, men have no right to control women’s bodies. Actually, nobody has the right to control anyone else’s body, so yea. Just basic human rights. For Obamacare, while flawed, there’s only two things better than it, neither of which the Republicans will replace it with. One, is we keep Obamacare, but add a public option to it. The other, more obvious solution is single payer healthcare, aka universal healthcare, aka Medicare for all. Healthcare is not capitalism, it’s not a business, it’s not for profit. Healthcare is a basic human right. Now, onto what I really want to say about Paul Ryan.
Donald Trump is, to put it bluntly and with no apologies, a fascist. With that said, I sincerely hate people like Paul Ryan. Paul Ryan is, if we’re being honest, an attractive man. He’s relatively young for a politician. Knows how to grow a good beard, but also knows how to look good while clean shaven. He also comes off as smart, knows what he’s talking about. He’s got the whole I’m a good father who likes to take time off from being a politician to spend time with my children thing going. He’s well spoken and generally comes off as a kind/nice person. I hate Trump, make no mistake, but man, Paul Ryan, and people like him, I completely and utterly despise them because, well, in my own words, they are fake people. Paul Ryan is a fake person.
What I mean by fake is, on the outside, Paul Ryan looks like an appealing, kind man. But he’s not. As the quote in the Batman Begins movie, “It’s not who you are underneath, it’s what you do that defines you.” Paul Ryan, since I judge people by their actions, is a ruthless, corrupt, racist, sexist, misogynist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, sociopathic, psychopathic, and criminal man, to say the least. The Republicans like him are the most dangerous, because they brand themselves as decent men who love their country.
It’s easy to hate Donald Trump, to make fun of him, make him look not legitimate, label him the things he really is, but man, I wish to see Paul Ryan politically destroyed. I want his fake good guy image shattered. I want to see his press conferences disrupted with shouts of “You’re a racist!” and “You’re a misogynist!” and stuff like that. I want to see him thrown in the dirt, politically speaking. I want his next opponent, likely a Democrat, to not talk about big money donors, no no no no no.. I want him/her to just say the word.. corrupt. Attack attack attack. Call Paul Ryan corrupt over and over and over again. Bring up every last one of the racist, sexist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, sociopathic policies he’s supported. Call him for what he really is, a monster. Never play defense against him, just offense offense offense. Make it so he can’t get back up. Name every corporation he’s gotten money from. Name every country he’s visited, every trade deal he’s voted for. I want to see Paul Ryan destroyed with memes. Every hypocrisy of his plastered on a meme and sent viral. Make Paul Ryan look like a huge coward, because he is a coward. He’s fake.
Also though, being that he’s an incumbent, he’d be difficult to beat. Plus, he’s the Speaker of the House, meaning he’s got popularity. So it’d have to be someone who’s authentic, someone who speaks with a fire of passion. They have to be a progressive. Obamacare was unpopular even on some parts of the left, while Medicare for all (single payer) is popular even on the right, so said person has to support that so they can tell even conservative voters, Obama gave you healthcare but it was too expensive, Paul Ryan took away your healthcare, you will give them affordable healthcare with affordable drugs. You have to be for a living wage, and pin poverty wages in Wisconsin on Paul Ryan and his corruption. Any bill he has voted on that has hurt women or minorities, whether it be defunding of Planned Parenthood or gutting of welfare, or anything like that, you have to be able to publicly say, Paul Ryan is racist, or he’s sexist, or whatever it is. Being sexist isn’t just calling a girl a slut, it’s also supporting policies that hurt women. Being a racist isn’t just calling black people names, it’s also supporting policies which hurt them, whether physically or economically or both.
I could keep going on but yea, I think I’ve made my point, I hope. All this attention is on Trump, and for good reason, as he’ll be our president, but it’s not a one man show. Trump is the loud attention seeking openly awful person, so it’s easy to put together protests against him, it’s easy to talk about resisting him, to talk about and plan on beating him in 2020. Paul Ryan though, man I can’t stand him. He’s just so fake.
For the record, I think we should do this with all the Republicans, but this post is just specifically about Paul Ryan. I can’t stand the sight of him, because he presents himself like a decent man when really he is this horrible person and so I see right through his whole good person act and it makes me physically angry, like stomping my feet or clapping my hands together really fast in frustration. He’s fake. Faaaaaaaaaake.
